Welcome to the website for Nick Moodie: Cello teacher and performer

About Nick

Nick is an experienced musician and cello teacher with many years of teaching experience. He currently teaches at two independent schools North of London, and works for a North London local arts council on an ad-hoc teaching basis. Alongside this he teaches privately, both locally in his students homes and in his own studio.

Tuition - What it's about

Whilst gearing up his students to play with a natural and strong technique, Nick focuses his teaching on musical performance. This gives a strong basis not only to play in any performance situation, but also to understand how to communicate and (most importantly) enjoy the music and the emotions which it creates.

Tuiton - Who can play

Nick teaches people of all ages and abilities, including the complete beginner. Where appropriate, he promotes ensemble and orchestral playing, along with performance of any other type including exams. Nick is registered for ABRSM grade 1-8 exams and currently has a 100% pass rate. However, if exams aren't for you, he also encourages playing 'just for fun'!

Tuition - Where

Nick is based in Highbury, 2 minutes walk from Arsenal tube station, Drayton Park overground and close to local bus routes. Nick will also consider travelling out within zone 1 and within the Highbury area.
